Key Points to Remember:
- You must and always ensure the Status field of the service you're creating is set to ‘Ready for Translation’ in Directus for it to show up in Transifex to initiate translation - Click Save
- Sync from Directus to Transifex should take no more than 10 minutes
- When it appears in Transifex, it will come up in the list as a resource in your Country Portfolio
- To show the latest service translation resource in the resource list, you can sort it by using the filter field on the right side. Choose “Source Updated (Descending)” to filter the queue from latest to oldest
- To translate, click on the item, click translate and choose the language. It is recommended to always review to ensure the translation is correct, and when you’ve reviewed, select Reviewed and apply the changes
- When you review, and need to edit, there is an edit field by clicking on the section you want to edit, and it’ll appear on the right
- It is ideal that you should always review and translate until the resource is at 100% in Transifex
- Transifex is recommended for those needing to translate in more than 2 languages due to the manual overhead of reviewing and editing
- If you need help with translating in another language that you’re not confident in, we advise you to reach out to another member from the Global Product Working Group (another country) who will be able to help and assist you with reviewing - Use the group chat ‘Global Product Working Group!’
Identified Next Steps
- There is an issue where Directus will change the statue to Translated when it’s not 100% translated in Transifex
- Despite it say it’s been translated, it is correct that the language that you did translate it to will still appear and show under the ‘Content’ field. You will need to go back to Transifex to complete the other translations to reflect back into Directus
- Request to hold a separate training for Zendesk and Transifex by the Product Team
