Permissions and Roles
To maintain data security and control, Directus offers robust permission settings. The Signpost tech team has configured roles with specific access rights for different users or user groups. These roles determine what actions users can perform within Directus, such as viewing, editing, or deleting records. If you have any errors where you cannot see certain data it is usually because of permissions and roles. By assigning appropriate roles, the IRC team ensures that only authorized individuals have access to sensitive data. “Service Mapping Officers” because of permissions cannot edit people’s roles, only “Admins” and “Developers” can!
Sharing and Collaboration
Directus provides features for sharing and collaborating on data. You can easily share specific records, collections, or even entire projects with colleagues or external stakeholders. Additionally, Directus allows for collaborative editing, where multiple users can work on the same record simultaneously, with changes being synchronized in real time. We will update this section with more details in the future!
Updating and Syncing
When you update data in Directus, the changes are reflected quickly across all connected applications and interfaces. Whether you make updates through the Directus Web Application or via the API, the information remains consistent and up-to-date. This ensures that everyone accessing the data has access to the most recent information. This is an automatic process, so if you change a field in the Directus Web Application, any future calls to the API will pull that new information, as will the database itself.
