Step type | Description | HQ Focal Point/Support |
Train | Signpost Introduction: The purpose of this training is to introduce you to the Signpost initiative, the approaches and program model, and case studies. This should be a minimum one-hour and is also a space to start discussions/ thinking about adapting Signpost to your context. | PRoL TA/ Signpost Program Advisor |
Decide | Decide on the population/s you will be serving, the geographic area you plan to cover, and the languages you will be prioritizing. | PRoL TA/ Signpost Program Advisor |
Train | Steps to Launch: The purpose of this training is to explain in a top-line way what it takes to launch a Signpost program, including to go over many of the steps outlined in this document. This discussion is essential to inform the development of a workplan and to set expectations around timelines. | PRoL TA/ Signpost Program Advisor |
Plan | Establish a workplan: Plan out when tasks can be completed based on the steps to launch training/discussion, and responsible persons at the implementing team level. | PRoL TA/ Signpost Program Advisor |
Plan | Establish a budget (see illustrative budget). Depending on donor flexibility, you may want to consider revisiting this budget after the INA has been completed/ when you have a more evolved picture of the program design. | PRoL TA/ Signpost Program Advisor |
Implement | Build your team: Your PRoL TA and/or Signpost Program Advisor can provide sample JDs to adapt and support with recruitment. | PRoL TA/ Signpost Program Advisor. |

Train | Signpost dashboard: This training is to learn about the analytics that your team will have access to. A deep-dive training is best done once the website and social media channels are launched, but an overview can happen sooner. Teams should have an overview before making any decisions about M&E/analytics resources that will be needed at the country level. | Pascal Sala |
Plan | Develop an editorial workflow. This is an important step to define roles and responsibilities for creating, verifying, and approving content. It can be done later in the launch process. | Joseph Sosi |
Implement | Conduct an Information Needs Assessment (INA) or use existing data to understand information needs, preferences, and sources for the target population. Your PRoL TA and/or Signpost Program Advisor can support you in adapting survey, KII, and FGD tools. | PRoL TA/ Signpost Program Advisor. |
