Your Signpost instance will have to developed a system for cross-team communications. This may be through ZenDesk, a Microsoft Teams Channel or something similar. Operational guidance on how to use your team’s communication platform will be provided by your supervisor during your training period.
Whatever communications system you are using, the most important thing to remember is that you need to be in contact with other moderators and the editorial team throughout your shift. This allows you to ask for help in answering questions and flag any concerns or observations during your shift.
Constant communication with the editorial team helps ensure that:
- Your answers are accurate
- We can ask for legal guidance and support on trickier user questions
- New and emerging information gaps are reported back and content can be developed to fill these gaps
- High risk cases can be handled with support from protection experts
Remember: If you are only 99.9% sure of an answer then you must ask for support! |
