On-page SEO: Headline & Content
The identifiers "H1, H2, H3" appear when you insert an article in Zendesk or any other content management system. H1 means the Headline, and H2, H3 mean the sub-headlines. The headline, specifically the first one (H1), would be the the main thing users see when they search for something on Google or any other search engine.
Tips for Headlines & Content
Headline Tips |
- Limit the title to 50-60 characters (including spaces). If you use long headlines, some portions will not be visible while people search it as search engines only show the first 50-60 Characters.
- Push the keyword closer to the beginning of the title (ONLY if it sounds natural).
- The Headline must be H1, and the other sub-headline should follow H2, H3, H4.

Content Tips |
- The content should be grammatically correct
- More than 300 words (however, avoid unnecessarily long articles)
- Use Internal links
- The content should be unique
- Must be mobile friendly
- Appealing visual contents
- Readable font size

If available in the platform you’re using, it is good to use quotes or the quotation menu. You can also hyperlink content or at the end, write a citation below the paragraph with a hyperlink. This will indicate to crawlers that you are citing the source.
-
Compress images and video before uploading in Zendesk. Heavy video and images will slow down the page access.
