Keywords (or key phrases) are the words or phrases people frequently search online when looking for any particular topic. It is important to consider the keywords while we are writing our content. It helps our content be most searchable for people. As a general rule, if we have relevant keywords in your piece of content, the more likely it will appear among the top search engine results for someone seeking content like yours.

Using the tips and tools mentioned below, you can define the most used (top-ranked) keywords/phrases people are using on a particular topic.

  • It’s good to use keywords in the headline of the article.
  • It is recommended to use long-tail keywords.
    • For example: COVID-19’ may have different meanings than’ COVID-19 Vaccination’. The search result of ‘COVID-19’ may show all things related to COVID-19, but when we specify our keywords like COVID-19 Vaccination, the search result will mostly show keywords related to COVID-19 vaccination.
  • It is recommended to use keywords as much as possible, especially in the first 2/3 paragraphs.
  • Use different keywords to say the same things.
  • Avoid Keyword Stuffing. Keyword stuffing is the practice of loading an article with keywords but at the expense of the content. It’s important to avoid doing this.
  • While it’s true that more keywords often result in higher search rankings, if those keywords are overused and the content is poor, the effect will be the opposite.
